“Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future”**
Kumasi, 5 December 2025 — As Ghana marks this year’s national focus under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” the Ghana Federation of Forest and Farm Producers (GhaFFaP) calls on all its members and every Ghanaian to rally behind this vision and intensify support for sustainable agriculture, improved access to finance, and strengthened value chains for farm and forest produce.
Agriculture remains the backbone of Ghana’s economy, employing millions and sustaining rural livelihoods. GhaFFaP’s mandate is to empower smallholder forest and farm producers across the Forest, Transition, and Savannah ecological zones, ensuring food security, climate resilience, and inclusive economic growth.
Under the national agenda, flagship initiatives such as the Feed Ghana Programme aim to reduce food imports, boost domestic production and transform agriculture into a reliable foundation for Ghana’s future development.
Showcasing Local Innovation and Value Addition

An exhibition stand by Tele-Bere Green AgroFarms displays value-added agricultural and forest products including processed grains, legumes, tubers, and dried products. The stand highlights agroecology, agroforestry, and regenerative farming practices, demonstrating how smallholder producers particularly women are adding value, improving market access and contributing to food security through climate-smart agriculture.

Our Call to Action
1. Mobilise and Organise as Cooperatives or Producer Groups
In line with the national drive, GhaFFaP encourages all members to form or strengthen farmer and forest producer organisations. Strong cooperatives improve access to inputs, extension services, credit, and collective marketing, making smallholder farming more viable and profitable.
2. Use Access to Finance as a Tool for Growth
GhaFFaP renews its call for affordable, accessible, and flexible agricultural financing, particularly for smallholders, women, and youth. Access to credit enables investment in quality seeds, irrigation, climate-smart technologies, processing, and storage.
3. Adopt Sustainable and Value-Adding Practices
Members are encouraged to embrace agroforestry, agro-processing, product aggregation, storage, and climate-resilient farming practices. Through collective initiatives such as the GhaFFaP Green Market, producers can access wider markets, improve quality standards, and increase incomes.
4. Engage with Government Programmes and Supportive Policies
As government rolls out the Feed Ghana Programme and related strategies, producers must actively engage—participating in consultations, demanding transparency, and claiming their fair share of benefits. GhaFFaP will continue advocating for enabling policies on land tenure, finance, extension, and rural infrastructure.
5. Prioritise Women and Youth in Agriculture
GhaFFaP reaffirms its commitment to inclusive growth by ensuring women and youth are central to agricultural transformation. Equal access to finance, training, markets, and decision-making must be guaranteed across all programmes.
This is a pivotal moment for Ghana’s agriculture. Under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” we have a unique opportunity to transform farming from small-scale subsistence into sustainable, profitable, and climate-smart enterprises. GhaFFaP stands ready to support its members, but success depends on collective commitment from farmers, government, the private sector and civil society.
Let us feed Ghana. Let us eat Ghana. And together, let us secure our future.
Signed
On behalf of GhaFFaP
