GHAFFAP Celebrates National Farmers Day and reinforces commitment to Agenda 2030

November 8, 2024 — Today, on National Farmers Day, the Ghana Federation of Forest and Farm Producers (GHAFFAP) proudly recognizes the invaluable contributions of farmers across the country. Their dedication, resilience, and hard work remain the backbone of Ghana’s economy in the area of Agriculture, providing essential resources that sustain and nourish our communities and well being.

The celebration of National Farmers Day is a timely reminder of the vital role our agricultural sector plays, not only in feeding the nation but in paving the way for a sustainable and prosperous future. This year GHAFFAP’s focus aligns with the theme “Building climate – resilient agriculture for sustainable food security” emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture in achieving the sustainable development goals SDGs and the National determined contribution NDCs in the area of food security, poverty alleviation, and environmental sustainability approaches.

“We are deeply committed to supporting farmers as they embrace innovative practices and sustainable land management to meet the evolving needs of our country and the global community,” stated GHAFFAP president Hajia Alima Sagito Saeed. “The success of Agenda 2030 relies heavily on our farmers ability to produce nutritious food in a way that preserves natural resources and strengthens our local economies.”

GHAFFAP reaffirms its pledge to advocate for policies, provide essential resources, and promote practices that empower Ghana’s farmers.
